Presentation

Guerra (War), first performed in 1998, is a play born out an urgent need to speak and to be heard. On the stage, the people come from all walks of life – a fairground shed, where the biggest cross-section of humanity mingle - searching in madness for the main characters. These people are furious. They argue angrily and demand more from existence than existence offers them. With simple sentences, tales full of images, hedging between the words of Che, Buddha and sub-commandante Marcos, Pippo Delbono comes back to the essential: a clear and straight-forward way of speaking aimed at those who listen in a straight-forward way. The theatre as a place for understanding and exchange.
