Presentation

On the themes of violence and manipulation, the adaptation of Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess and American Psycho by Brett Easton Ellis takes place on a television quiz set. It is some time in the future where the world is one big Union. The quizmaster is Frau Plastic Chicken, and she conducts the programme with diabolic peversity. On the set are Madison, the psycopath who terrorises the city and who has just been arrested, and Little Alex, a repentant criminal. The competition of confessions has both men behaving out of character. The play combines the actors on stage with cinema through filmed sequences on celluloid, and a giant screen broadcasts the live television programme. "Live" songs, dance, and music are also thrown in to the show. The connection between the stage and images on film and video is consistent throughout the play.
