Introduced to singing by her father at a young age, Umm Kulthum enjoyed a career that spanned fifty years and followed the evolution of half a century of music, including the introduction of keyboards and electric guitars. The singer and popular icon bridged the gap between tradition and modernity, leaving her mark on the history of both music and her country, Egypt. To commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of her passing, Lebanese producer Zeird Hamdan has imagined this monumental concert in the Cour d’honneur. Centered around Arabic, the guest language of this 79th edition, it serves as a musical link between the past and present. A great opportunity to experience the voices of seven artists with eclectic backgrounds and influences: Abdullah Miniawy, Camelia Jordana, Danyl, Maryam Saleh, Natacha Atlas, Rouhnaa, and Souad Massi.
