La Ribot

Since the 1980s, La Ribot has been confronting her dancer’s body with art spaces, freely employing dramaturgical logics borrowed from theatre, visual arts, performance, cinema, or video. Through striking solo shows, daring collaborations, experiments with amateurs, plastic installations, and cinematic creations, her multifaceted work explores and pushes the boundaries and rights of the body in contemporary artistic expression. She was awarded a Golden Lion by the Venice Dance Biennale for her whole career in 2020.
