Christophe Rauck

Christophe Rauck — who came to the Festival d’Avignon in 2018 with the students of the École du Nord for Jean-Luc Lagarce’s A Far Country — has been director of the Théâtre du Peuple in Bussang, the TGP-CDN in Saint-Denis, and the Théâtre du Nord in Lille-Tourcoing. He was named director of the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers in 2021. After creating a training workshop for young actors and a programme in “alternating seasons” with four directors starting in 2024, he has focused his tenure as director on collective emulation and on support for young creations. Since his time at the Théâtre du Soleil, he has never stopped learning from the classics, but also from contemporary texts such as Martin Crimp’s, Rémi De Vos’s, or Sara Stridsberg’s. Whether from now or from yesterday, “theatre is always the present. Texts move us because they ask questions about the complexity of the world."
