The place

The espace culturel Folard used to be a castle belonging to the eponymous knight, and was built between 1710 and 1715 by architect Jean-Baptiste Franque, who also designed the hotels now housing the collection Lambert and the musée Calvet in Avignon. The travelling shows of the Festival never fail to stop in this beautiful venue renovated in 2014, with its indoor courtyard and its park right next to the theatre.
