Located in Haut-Vaucluse, south of the Rhône Valley, Vacqueyras is a Provençal village full of character, known for its battlements and its narrow streets winding up towards the Château seigneurial des Vassadel and the church. Vacqueyras is defined by its way of life and its authenticity, in a village where vine-growing is a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, with passionate wine-growers who have made Vacqueyras' reputation. The vins de Vacqueyras were officially recognised as their own vintage on 22 February, 1990, putting Vacqueyras among the top “appellation d'origine controlée” (AOC) Côtes du Rhône wines.
