Presentation

News Tank Culture and the Festival d'Avignon, have launched in 2021, a program aimed at questioning the future of the performing arts in a long-term perspective. The program is entitled "Quel spectacle vivant en 2050? Prospective on a generational scale".

The idea is to ask performing arts professionals themselves (artists, directors, heads of institutions or production and distribution teams, etc.) to reflect on the major changes possible, to imagine the future of performing arts practices and creative methods 30 years from now, at a time when, on a general level, the technological, social, economic and ecological changes underway are already considerable and are bound to increase.

The health crisis, which has hit cultural and artistic life hard and has had a lasting impact, has reinforced the need for this kind of reflection, questioning both the current conditions of production and distribution of shows, and the way in which we can all look to the future.
