From 00:30 after the performance of DÄMON, El funeral de Bergman by Angelica Liddell
The results of this first round of voting confirm the trend observed during the European elections three weeks ago: the threat of the far right coming to power is no longer theoretical, but very real.
Alongside the City of Avignon and the local authorities that support the Festival, Avignon Festival & Compagnie, which organizes the Off, the artists of the Festival d'Avignon, the CGT-Spectacle, the Syndeac and civil society players, the Festival d'Avignon is launching the Nuit d'Avignon initiative.
This night of arts, thought and debate will take place on the night of July 4-5 in the Cour d'Honneur of the Palais des papes, following the performance of Angelica Liddell's DÄMON - El funeral de Bergman, from 0:30 a.m. until dawn.
A night of unity, a night of mobilization, a popular night to counter the supposed inevitability of a far-right victory.
A night of strength and hope.
Faithful to its founding values, convinced that another project for a progressive, popular, democratic, republican, feminist, ecologist, anti-racist society is desirable, the Festival d'Avignon, through its call to join the Nuit d'Avignon, wishes to embody the vital place of societal and political debate.
For one more night, we'll be fighting to ensure that on the evening of July 7, Avignon becomes a place of celebration rather than resistance.
