The ordinary routine of a Youtuber who, once the camera’s off, sees her reality crumble. What’s the truth of what we feel?

Presentation

What’s reality? Your everyday life, your dreams, your fears, your desires... Or the sum of all those things, plus the worlds that live within you. Seemingly nothing more than a YouTube influencer, Angela could be reduced to the routine of her days: a woman who films herself and talks about her illnesss... Same format, same script, same thoughts. But Angela’s hiding something. When the camera’s off, when she stops to think about her perceptions, her life is entirely different. This new feminine figure created by Susanne Kennedy is a character about to fall into herself and surrender to the feverish, subterranean worlds within herself. With multimedia artist Markus Selg, Kennedy plays with technology in search of states of perception flirting with the supernatural, science-fiction, and post-humanism. 3D fractal generators, neural networks, modelling softwares, loops that allow us to zoom in and out within Angela’s life, in order to unsettle our judgment and question our certainties... What do we see? What do we perceive? And how can we be sure?
