How do we paint the night, to translate it without reproducing it?

Presentation

A major source of inspiration throughout the history of art, how has the night been depicted in painting? It is not reproduced but translated onto a canvas, even recreated. And just like the starry sky, we can’t grasp all of it at a glance. A journey through the perceptions of the night, by those who paint it.
