Study #4, Fandango and other cadences

Having worked for years on a research project revolving around the gesture of stamping, I asked Yannick Hugron to tell me about his experience with popular Basque dance. I wanted to widen my research and talk with other people practicing those dances and music in the Basque Country, thus collecting fragments of stories.  With those words as a starting point, we’ll call on, inventory, and reinterpret stories and gestures collected during those conversations. We’ll activate the memory of bodies and create our own choreographic fiction.

After training at the CNN de Montpellier and the CNSMD de Lyon, Yannick Hugron began a career as a performer and worked with several choreographers including Jc Gallotta, Alban Richard, Fabrice Lambert, Joanne Leighton, Katell Hartereau and Léonard Rainis, and Mélanie Perrier.
