Alternating with works by Louis Couperin, Marin Marais, Sainte-Colombe, and with François Couperin's Third Lesson of the Dark, fragments about the moment a man's voice breaks: “Men lose their child's voice. When they turn 13, their voices become hoarse, they quaver and bleat. Men are those beings whose voices break—creating songs for two voices.”
Musique sacrée en Avignon offers, in partnership with the Festival d'Avignon, a cycle of concerts/readings that showcase the historic organs of Avignon and its areas. For the 70th edition of the Festival, several works by Pascal Quignard have been selected: The Name on the Tip of the Tongue, The Roving Shadows, Les Désarçonnés (The Unsettled), The Music Lesson, as well as unpublished texts, which will be read by Marie Vialle, Pierre-Yves Chapalain, and Didier Sandre.
