By making us discover unpublished texts—No Dawn, Voids and Loyalties—or by changing the way we hear excerpts from the Prix Goncourt-winning The Roving Shadows and The Unsettled, Pierre-Yves Chapalain accompanies us on the journeys Pierre Quignard devises for us—personal journeys made of falls and rebirths, journeys through the works that are never for the writer a goal or a desired outcome but a deliberate wandering. The reading will alternate with works by Robert Schuman, Felix Mendelssohn, and Franz Liszt.
Musique sacrée en Avignon offers, in partnership with the Festival d'Avignon, a cycle of concerts/readings that showcase the historic organs of Avignon and its areas. For the 70th edition of the Festival, several works by Pascal Quignard have been selected: The Name on the Tip of the Tongue, The Roving Shadows, Les Désarçonnés (The Unsettled), The Music Lesson, as well as unpublished texts, which will be read by Marie Vialle, Pierre-Yves Chapalain, and Didier Sandre.
