Alain-Kamal Martial was born in 1974, in the village of Mzoizia, in the south of Mayotte. He is an author and has directed many plays, mostly premiered with his own company IstaMbul. L'Épilogue d'une Trottoire (Epilogue of a Pavement) is part of the “Épilogues” series that gives those who are not meant to be heard the right to speak. In this case, la “Trottoire”, a prostitute in many African countries, breaks the silence. Words of flesh that is sold, words of battered flesh. Eight pieces follow each other like as many hallucinated images of women, powerless witnesses of their own downfall.
