Presentation

A.# 02 is the second stage in a research project on the future of tragedy carried out over a number of years by Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio. Each stage will end with a new form, pushing back the limits of sound and image in the act of theatre. As always with Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio, the performance takes place in a space of grandiose and moving pictural beauty. From stage to stage, the project grows constantly, moving, evolving and changing like a living organism. In each place, the idea of tragedy is sown, spreading from one spectator to another. La Socìetas comes back once more to ideas which have been forgotten by and are almost dormant in, humanity. The company seems to be situated on the edge of the unmentionable. They speak to us from there. From a forgotten time, from a distant edge of the world, from a future. Calling on everyone to awaken and to dream, to join the voyage towards new emotions. It is from there that they knock at the door of intimacy and call for attention from the brain and from the flesh. Romeo Castellucci' s visionary, erudite and sublime wanderings leave no-one unmoved. A.# 02 is no exception.
