The programme drawn up this year by Héla Fattoumi, dancer and choreographer offers four projects. She says "For this fifth edition of Vif, I wanted to stress some of the choices that were deemed most important when this section of the Festival was coming alive, and that seem determinant. In the same spirit, I suggested to four dancers that they should approach a choreographer of their choice and work together in a new space for research. That is to me the notion of 'entre-deux', 'between-the-two'. That is the notion that highlights the richness and the complexity of these "staging of presences" that engender this particular context of the solo. The dancers I have called upon this year have very different aesthetic backgrounds and paths. Through their commitment and their choices, they contribute to the diversity that has fertilised the choreographic arena of today. I wanted the Vif to return to the gardens of the Saint-Joseph High School because it seems to me to be a place that corresponds to the experience underlying the spirit of the Vif. I am sure that these staged "presences" are rich with surprises and that they will enable us all to live moments of fragility and intensity.
