Richard II is wearing the crown before the opening of Shakespeare's Henry IV (parts I and II). Henry IV usurps Richard II and then has him assassinated while in jail and at the same time delivers magnanimous speeches as the new political leader. Shakespeare's plays are the tales of history, of everyday life, everyone's dramas. One government lays its foundations on the rubble of the previous one, and actors travel through the destinies of the all the characters, kings or jesters, in the royal court or in the ale house. "The World is a Stage..." Yann-Joel Collin and the actors' collective to which he belongs share the energy, dynamism and a frenzy of commitment that creates a performance which shows, through their pleasure in acting, the mechanisms of power and the workings of a society.
