Romero de Andrade Lima

Brazil

Presentation

Brazilian Romero de Andrade Lima invites his audience into a surprising Passion, Auto Da Paixo taking them on a bumpy ride through twelve pastourelles, songs and dance that are disturbing and sinful. They are transformed into wild women or lively men by skillful voice manipulation, and the rolling of percussion instruments. They represent all the symbolic figures in life, like the outcast Mary Magdalen. The spectator can identify with these sketches, they are universal and the pain and misery, like the joys and pleasure, make the soul quake, whether they are in Brazil or in France. Ultimately, it is the sound of the human voice that makes us hear, filling our own interior theatre.
