Victoria Duhamel

Born in 1987, Victoria Duhamel has been fascinated by opera since childhood. After studying literature, singing, and drama, she started her practical study of direction by working as an assistant to Vincent Boussard, Pierre-André Weitz, or Christian Schiaretti. In 2017, she was invited by the Palazzetto Bru Zane, the centre for French Romantic music in Venice, to direct Les Fleurs du mâle, which was followed in 2019 by La Forêt bleue, a lyrical fairy tale in Tourcoing, and by two contemporary creations: Le Cosmicomiche at the Opéra de Toulon, and The Conference of the Birds at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence. This is Victoria Duhamel's first show at the Festival d'Avignon.
