Rébecca Chaillon

Director and author Rébecca Chaillon works at the crossroads between theatre, performance, and poetry. With the company Dans le ventre, she explores relationships of domination and marginalised identities in our society. Bringing together the personal and the political, her creations engage with struggles against discrimination and take on diverse forms, such as Carte noire nommée désir (2021), a performance about the construction of desire among Black women, presented at the Festival d’Avignon in 2023. In it, she tells stories of desire and violence imposed on bodies with lots of love, humour, and food.
