Nouveau Théâtre Populaire
Inspired by Jean Vilar’s legacy, Nouveau Théâtre Populaire was founded in 2009, when eighteen twenty-year-old artists settled in the village of Fontaine-Guérin, in Maine-et-Loire, to create an open-air theatre. Every summer since they have offered a programme of great classic and contemporary texts, following a democratic and collective approach which aims to strike down the borders between actors and directors, artists and spectators.
