Kiripi Katembo Siku

Born in Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kiripi Katembo Siku trained at the Académie des Beaux-Arts of Kinshasa, where he lives and works today. He was interested in painting before turning towards photography and video with which he constantly questions the notion of urban mutation, in DRC as elsewhere. In 2008, he presented at the Centre Pompidou Cardboard Car, a video filmed in Kinshasa with a pocket camera. His works have been exhibited at international events like the Venice Biennale, the Berlinale, the Rencontres de Bamako and the Rencontres d'Arles. Since 2011, he has accompanied other artists in the production of their projects, like the film Atalaku by Dieudo Hamadi. Kiripi Katembo Siku is the author of the photos illustrating the preview programme and poster of the 67th Festival d'Avignon.
