Israel Galván

The son of dancers José Galván and Eugenia de los Reyes, Israel Galván grew up in Seville, in a world of dance academies, cabarets, and flamenco festivities. Raised in the flamenco tradition, he upended its codes to forge an inimitable personal style of daring and iconoclasm. His work alternates between intimate performances, large-scale productions, and collaborations with contemporary artists, notably Marlene Monteiro Freitas for RI TE Paris Intermissions (2022). He last appeared at the Festival d’Avignon in 2018 with La Fiesta
