Henri jules Julien
A chemical engineer by training, Henri jules Julien has chosen to live in the “Arab worlds,” rejecting the unifying Western vision of this part of the world. There, he produces, translates, and creates radio fictions. He first came to the Festival d’Avignon in 2019 with Mahmoud & Nini. He created the Shaeirat (poetesses) project, which aims to promote contemporary Arab poetesses, one of whom asked him to stage her poems. Henri jules Julien lives in Casablanca where he has set up the hORIEzoNTALISME programme in collaboration.
