Enzo Verdet

Born in 1992, actor and director Enzo Verdet joined Olivier Py in 2015 to lead drama workshops in the Avignon – Le Pontet prison. With the inmates, they put on Prometheus Bound in 2015, Hamlet in 2016 (performed at the Festival d'Avignon in 2017), Antigone in 2017 (performed at the Festival d'Avignon in 2018), and The Persians in 2018. In 2017, he co-founded with Hélène July the company A Divinis, adapting Héi Tillette de Clermont-Tonnerre's Pourquoi mes frères et moi on est parti... (Why My Brothers and I Left...) in 2018. He likes to explore the relationship between mankind and society by providing a fresh perspective on ideas we thought beyond dispute. Theatre, with its direct confrontation with the audience, gives him this space of dialogue he needs to try to understand and see things differently.
