Christiana Tabaro

Trained at the National Institute of Arts in Kinshasa, writer, director and actress Christiana Tabaro founded the Collectif D’Art-D’art with Michael Disanka in 2011.With this project, they attempt to speak for the complicated history of the Congo, experimenting a form of documentary theatre they call “scratch theatre”. They create deeply political autofictions, such as their last three plays (Sept Mouvements Congo, Géométrie(s) de vie(s), and Neci Padiri), which are about both their own personal stories and the condition of artists who work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
