Bouchra Ouizguen

Bouchra Ouizguen is a Moroccan dancer and choreographer. She lives and works in Marrakech, where she has been involved in the development of the local choreographic scene since 1998. Her work is fueled by encounters she keeps track of, from the stranger she met down the street to recognised mentors. Literature and orality, painting, cinema, music, and moments of everyday life are the pillars around which she gravitates, and which she intertwines, mixes, and juxtaposes to create her shows – either alone, or with the artists of her Compagnie O – as in her latest creation, Éléphant, presented in 2022 at the Kunstenfestivaldesarts.
