Alistair McDowall

Alistair McDowall was born in 1987 in rural northeast England and discovered thatre at school, where he was an avid reader of Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter, and Sarah Kane. He glimpses the infinite possibilities of the stage, where imagination has no limit. He rose to prominence in 2010 with Plain Jane at Manchester’s Royal Exchange, before beginning a collaboration with London theatres such as the Royal Court Theatre, Paines Plough, and the National Theatre Studio. Brilliant Adventures won several awards, including at the Royal Court Young Writers Festival in 2012. Talk Show was created at the Royal Court Theatre in 2013, X in 2016, and The Glow in 2022.
